Karen Schirn, FMCA Mediator


Accredited mediator Karen Schirn has worked as a family solicitor for over 16 years. Karen trained in 2011 as a family mediator with The Family Mediator's Association. She brings a wealth of experience of relationship breakdown and dispute resolution. ​
 

Karen is qualified to undertake child inclusive mediation and also to supervise the professional practice of others.

Sarah England, FMCA, Director & Mediator

 

Director & accredited mediator Sarah England has a commercial background with over 20 years experience in business strategy and marketing including a number of years in legal services marketing. Sarah trained as a family mediator in 2011 with The Family Mediator's Association. She brings a down to earth approach with a particular empathy for children's issues, with strong problem solving skills.


Sarah is qualified to undertake child inclusive mediation and also to supervise the professional practice of others.

Janet Flawith FMCA Mediator
 

Janet was admitted as a family solicitor in 1993. She later moved into mediation as she didn't believe that the court process helped separating couples. 

Jan is an accredited mediator qualified in child inclusive mediation. She is also a PPC meaning she is qualified to supervise the practice of other mediators.

Justine Cadbury, Accredited Mediator 
 

Justine is a qualified Barrister, who trained as a family mediator in 2016.
 

She has over ten years of experience of dispute resolution. Additionally Justine co-edited, with the right Hon Sir Mathew Thorpe, “Hearing the Children” a collection of papers of the 2003 Interdisciplinary Conference at Dartington Hall.

Amanda, VA

Amanda is often the first point of contact for clients. She has a wealth of experience supporting the specialist area of family mediation with kindness and efficiency. 
 

She has over 20 years of experience working in the Administration and Customer Service industries. Amanda has been supporting Mediators for over 3 years.
 

Her passion is to provide a great service to clients when they make the initial enquiry to start the mediation process.

Adrienne has a BSC and has worked in both a business setting and also with Citizen's Advice.

Sean Taylor Trainee Mediator

Sean is trainee mediator, working towards accreditation. 

He is a qualified therapeutic counsellor for adults and is currently working for the NHS as a senior peer support worker mental health department.

For over 15 years Sean’s work experience holds its focus in the public sector in a range of different areas such as, play and youth services, observational family contact supervisor, children’s home residential services, respite residentials, specific needs teachers assistant, family support worker, semi-independent support worker, and residential services for vulnerable people.

Sean has always been passionate about supporting and assisting others resolve internal or external adversities, and so Sean has begun focusing his attention on the world of mediation.

Jemma Thomas, Accredited Mediator

Jemma  is an accredited mediator with the Family Mediation Council and has exclusively specialised in family law throughout her 20-year legal career. Jemma read law at Cambridge University, was an associate at Withers  LLP for four years working on a varied caseload including complex financial matters, often with international elements, and since 2010 has been a  Knowledge Lawyer for the Family team at Withers, with responsibility for delivering training and undertaking high-level legal research. Jemma trained as a mediator so as to use her skills to work with separating families, supporting them to find practical workable solutions. 

Training to be a Mediator?

Green Light Mediation is interested in meeting trainee mediators who are looking to work for a family mediation service on a part time free lance basis.

Our USP is co-mediation, ideally with a lawyer, non lawyer team.

If you are currently training, or have recently completed your training and are looking to begin  training or have completed your Foundation Course please get in touch. We are particularly interested in those with backgrounds as family solicitors or family lawyers.

We do not charge for enabling the required 10 hours of mediation in advance of sign off.
